2006 Green Bay Packer Schedule

The plan of action for the 2006 Green Bay Packer schedule was originally determined in 2002 when the National Football League took a more active role in the schedule process. This action was due to the inequities, discrepancies and misalignment of the team schedules prior to that time. The 2006 Green Bay Packer schedule is part of an eight year cycle which sees each team playing each other team twice during the period. One game is a home game and the other game is an away game.

Preseason Games

The opening game of the preseason was played against opponent San Diego Chargers at San Diego on August 12. It was lost by two touchdowns with only one field goal in the fourth quarter on the scoreboard. San Diego earned touchdowns in the first and second quarters and kicked a field goal in the third quarter. The Chargers were held scoreless in the fourth and final quarter.

On August 19, Green Bay met the Atlanta Falcons the home field for the Midwest Shrine game. It was a 38-10 win for the Packers. Each team scored a touchdown in the first quarter, Green Bay managed a respectable 17-3 score in the 2nd quarter, neither team scored in the 3rd quarter and the Falcons were held scoreless in quarter 4, while the Packers racked up 14 points.

Green Bay lost to the Cincinnati Bengals on August 28, 17 to 48 at the Bengals home field.

Another loss, this time to the Tennessee Titans occurred on September 1. The home-field Bishops Charity Game ended at a dismal 35 to 21.

Regular season

The first game of the regular season was against the long-time rival Chicago Bears on September 10. The home field game was lost when the Packers were unable to gain a single point to the 26 points collected by the Bears.

Game #2 against the New Orleans Saints the home field was the second loss of the season, with 27 points to 34 by the Saints.

Finally, the first win of the regular season–this against the Detroit Lions at 31 to 24–was also a home game

The remaining two games before the Bye week were played against the Eagles – a home game and against the St Louis Rams, both games were losses.

Eleven games remain to be played during the 2006 regular season, six at out-of-town locations and five home games.

Following the trend in Northern California, Stockton saw a decrease in median days on market. The median days a house spent on the market went down 21% from 48 days in Dec 08 to 38 days in Dec 09. We cannot make a focused claim based solely on the drop in median days on market since this was a phenomenon experienced by all the cities we examined in Northern Ca except Sacramento. However, since majority of Northern Ca also saw a drop in median sales price, we can generalize that, lower median sales prices are probably a big reason for the drop in median days on market. As far as total number of units sold, Stockton experienced a 36.74% decline. That is actually a significant drop since about 250 less units were sold in Dec 09; there is not much we can say here except, the decline is probably due to the ailing California economy.

Neighbors Tracy and Manteca, unlike Stockton, experienced a rise in median sales price though very minimal for the former. Manteca Ca homes for sale saw a 8.66% rise in median sales prices ($181,039 Dec 08 to $196,724 Dec 09) and Tracy Ca homes for sale saw a 0.39% increase ($240,174 in Dec 08 to $241,119 in Dec 09). Both cities saw a decline in median days on market and also experienced a decline in total number of units sold, 24.19% for Manteca and 11.89% for Tracy.
